Chasing Butterflies at The Herbfarm

I spent my afternoon chasing butterflies and flowers at The Herbfarm last week. What a delight for the senses! Amazing smells from the herbs and edible plants not to mention the lilac. But the most delightful part was watching a gorgeous swallowtail butterfly dine on the nectar from the beautiful lilac bushes. And the colors did not disappoint! The soft, light purple of the lilac perfectly complimented the pale, dusty yellow of the butterfly’s wings.

Love it? Visit The Herbfarm next time you’re south of Woodinville. It’s between The Hollywood Hill School House and Chateau Ste. Michelle winery. The gardens are open to the public.

I spent a few hours soaking up the delicious sunshine while the flowers and fountains provided an extraordinary palette of colors for my lens.

Peacock Fancy

I recently started a new part-time job at Chateau Ste. Michelle winery in Woodinville. While the wines and people are wonderful, my favorite part is walking through the glorious grounds as I come to and from work. Besides all the fabulous flowers, there is one pretty peacock who has been elusive to me, until yesterday.Continue Reading

A Joyous Portrait Session

Joyce and I met on an island far, far away, geographically and chronologically. We met scuba diving off Roatan, a little island in the Caribbean off the coast of Honduras before my daughter was born. We quickly found out we lived only a few miles apart! Joyce has been “doing” my hair ever since. “Doing”Continue Reading

This week, I worked on several projects for Village Life. You can see one of them in the Saturday Seattle Times NewHomes Saturday section. It’s a 10×20 inch purple ad for Village Life Communities. Concept, layout and copywriting and the bold color-selection were all my responsibility. Such a fun project!     I also completed aContinue Reading
